Who we are

Appropriately enough, the beginning of Foggy Outline is tough to pinpoint precisely. Did it start around 2018, when Matt started using the name Foggy Outline as a label to tie together his various fiction, drama, game and podcast projects? Or earlier, in 2011, with the launch of ideostone, the environmental literacy company that would later become Foggy Outline? Or in 2024, when the company, the name, and the three of us all joined together to become the Foggy Outline we know today?

Whatever the story, one thing is clear: Foggy Outline is a family business.

Richard Boothman

Richard is an environmentalist and an educator, a lecturer and trainer, a writer and course designer.

Throughout the 21st century, as the need for climate action has become more and more urgent, he has educated students and businesses on environmental topics – working with the Open University, NEBOSH and IEMA. He is as happy delivering face to face sessions as he is developing online learning.

Karen Boothman

Karen is an animator and voiceover artist, a video producer and business administrator.

Her background is in food technology and administrative processes, so she’s perfectly placed to keep an eye on the health of the business.

Matt Boothman

Matt is a writer and editor, an interviewer and improv director, a producer and showrunner, and accidentally a game designer.

His background is in drama, theatre and performance, and outside of Foggy Outline he has a career in marketing, all of which he combines to make and distribute audio drama (with emphasis on the drama).
